With over 30 years experience in enrollment management operations, higher education demography, marketing research, and information systems design, Doug has spent his career dedicated to higher education.
In 1984, he founded Sequitur Corporation, an innovative higher education software and consulting firm focused on enrollment management. The College Board acquired Sequitur in 2001, along with its primary asset, Recruitment PLUS™, and Doug stayed on to serve as the College Board's Vice President of Higher Education Operations and Market Development. With a staff of 120 professionals, Doug increased College Board technology solutions revenue from $38 million to $52 million in only 3 years.
Doug’s career also includes terms as a director of admissions, a researcher for the U.S. Department of Education, a director of information services at a national marketing and communications firm, and a software developer.
During his career, Doug has consulted on, or conducted workshops for, more than 200 colleges and universities, addressing topics such as strategic enrollment management, the use of research in marketing strategy, information technology for higher education, and the demography of higher education. He has authored articles on enrollment management, higher education finance, marketing and the uses of computer technology in publications such as College and University, The Admissions Strategist, Capital Ideas and others. He also serves as a contributing author to Financing Higher Education in a Global Economy.
